Dr. P.S.Burman & Co story began way back in 1880. When a philanthropist Zamindar Shree Pancham Singh Verma, a curious young man venturing thru his Village, Jamhore, Aurgangabad, Bihar noticed many local folks suffering from Haija (Cholera). He used his knowledge of Indian Medicine and came up with his first homemade product and named it as “Peeyush Dhara”. In English it means Stream of Nectar. It really worked wonders and became an overnight success in the local areas and slowly its name spread across the neighboring towns and districts.

Driven and encouraged by the success and response of this product Shree Pancham Singh Verma founded Dr. P.S.Burman & Co. in 1885 with a sole purpose of providing superior quality product at a fair price to help people get rid of health ailments. This young man with a pocketful of dreams, spent remaining days of his life serving the people with a basket of homemade Ayurvedic Preparations.

The years that followed were a time of endurance and a test of the young man's patience, strength and passion. He spent his days learning about herbs from various ayurvedic texts and local Vaidyas and coming out with new and effective herbal formulations. His vision was to 'bring the traditional Indian science of Ayurveda to society in a most traditional form having a contemporary touch.

In a time when herbal products were regarded with skepticism, our founder's belief in the healing power of herbs was unwavering. He felt that if people were offered safe and effective herbal medicines, they would come to accept them as part of their healthcare routine.

The improvised version of “Namak Sulemani” (Sulemani Salt) a unani medicinal preparation set the future course for Dr. P.S.Burman & Co. It taught us the value of in depth study of Ayurvedic Sciences and the power it has in treating most chronic ailments in a natural way without impacting health or the environment. It taught us the value of spices which we use in daily basis in any Indian Kitchen. It also taught us the importance of patience, passion and perseverance.

We have since focused on converting Ayurveda's herbal tradition into a range of proprietary formulations dedicated to healthy living and longevity. With a history spanning over 100 years in the area of herbal medicines, Dr. P.S.Burman & Co shares a close relationship with nature. We are in the business of not only promoting good health but also safeguarding the health of our planet. Ever since our inception, we have taken great care to protect biodiversity, collect herbs from producers who maintain a sustainable way and promote good agricultural practices.

In 2016, Dr P.S.Burman & Co in tied up with Atreyu Herbal Care and launched its new web based marketing platform along with its own branded range of personal & health care products to meet the customers’ expectations and requirements in more effective manner.

Atreyu Herbal Care was founded on 21-Aug-2015 by Ms. Uma Singh, Grand Daughter in Law of Shree Radha Mohan Singh (Grand Son of Shree Pancham Singh Verma) , along with his three sons Mr. Prem Kumar Singh (Bsc. Chemistry), Dr. Dilip Kumar Singh (BAMS) & Mr. Vibhuti Narain Singh (B.Pharma) who was responsible of taking forward the dreams of founder Shree Pancham Singh from 1940.

Our logo is a visual definition of our brand identity

1. Circle signifies the never ending life cycle of ecosystem.2. Seven points of the star signifies Seven Dhatus of body which are basis of Ayurvedic formulations and treatments. They are: Rasa (Plasma); Rakta (Blood); Mamsa (Muscles); Medas (Fat); Asthi (Bone); Majja (Marrow / Nerve) & Shukra (Reproductive Tissue)3. This color is a warm and positive color associated with our most physical needs and our will to survive. In Indian cultures red is the color for good luck.
